
Students will study the history and core principles of Manicuring and Nail Technology. They will also become familiar with the laws, rules, and regulations governing manicuring. Additionally, students will receive guidance on preparing for the state board examination.
Infection Control: bacteriology, and hygiene
Students will understand that maintaining clean instruments and workspaces is a critical element of proper sanitation. They will be introduced to two categories of bacteria, as well as the guidelines for disinfection, safety measures for decontamination, and the fundamental principles of sanitation.
Manicures, Pedicure and nail Enhancements
Students will be introduced to the five primary shapes of nails. They will also gain knowledge about nail irregularities and diseases. The curriculum covers various nail extensions, wraps, nail art techniques, embellishment products, as well as related procedures and safety protocols.
Additionally, students will learn foundational manicure methods and hand massage techniques. Instruction includes guidance on the proper use of each nail cosmetic, along with information regarding their ingredients.
The student will gain a greater understanding of the use of tools and procedures for the various nail services.
Salon Business, Retail Sales
Students will acquire an understanding of the responsibilities inherent in business development and ownership. Additionally, they will be instructed in effective service and retail product sales strategies.
Miscellaneous
Students will learn industry policy and procedures for Mississippi state licensing; Students will also receive the state required domestic violence and human trafficking CE.
